Classic PVP
A classic approach to PVP in Star Trek Online
The Intention
Almost every addition to ships and gear from S2 onward has blurred the
lines between ship classes, introduced things that have washed out the
unique flavour of the two factions and has overall led to a decline in PVP
balance.
The idea of Classic PVP is to return to the days of S1.2-S2 in terms of
gear and ships and thus avoid all the newly introduced problems. An
additional bonus of this is that Classic PVP matches are accessible even for
players who did not spend a lot of time levelling up starbases and
reputation to get access to items.
The Rules
- No Doffs. At all.
- Only the old RA ships (NOT their fleet refits). See
Ships for details.
- Essentially only gear that was available with Season 2. See
Gear for details.
- Recommendation: Include a -PVP- tag in your ship name to broadcast
that your ship complies with the Classic PVP rules.
